John L. Smucker

John has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from "that university" in central Ohio and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

His professional career has been centered around finance; most recently as a business entrepreneur. John served as a commercial lender for a bank and was an investment banker with a regional firm before joining Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he spent 10 years. He formed MCE Technologies, Inc. in 1994 and ran it for a decade serving the telecom and defense industries with microwave components and subsystems. John currently serves as a director for two technology companies (public and private).  In June 2010, John was elected Vice Chairman of the Board of Ann Arbor State Bank.

John and his wife, along with their two grown children, have lived and worked in southeast Michigan for more than 30 years. He has been pleased to volunteer and support many community activities and organizations throughout that time.
