Ann Arbor State Bank assists Rotary Club’s Spring Food Drive for Food Gatherers

Hunger is real in Washtenaw County.  Each year, 44,500 people turn to Food Gatherers to feed themselves and their families. This includes 9,717 children and 2,829 seniors.  These individuals are our neighbors, relatives, friends and co-workers.

Spring food drive donations especially assist families with school-age children who depend on free or reduced breakfast and lunch programs to get through the summer.
The overall goal is to provide 50,000 meals.  Last year, Ann Arbor State Bank was able to collect 50 meals – this year we would like to double it!  For summer, the food bank is in particular need of high-protein products such as peanut butter, tuna, canned meats, beans, chili, hearty soups and stews, plus canned fruit, baby food/formula and Ensure or other nutritional supplement drinks.

Anyone who finds financial contributions a more convenient way to help, is encouraged to do so!  Financial gifts of $25 or more to Food Gatherers through the Rotary Fight Summer Hunger Food and Fund Drive will be matched dollar for dollar through the Harold and Kay Peplau Match Challenge.  A gift of $25 will provide enough food for 150 meals when you include the match!  To give online:

We have until March 22nd to meet our goal!  We would love your help!
