As an Ann Arbor resident since 1969, Bill’s roots here continue to deepen. University of Michigan ROTC was his final assignment of six and one-half years of active service in the U.S. Army. With a BGS from University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, his 40 years in business have been spent in a variety of interests: Arbor Springs Water Co. in Ann Arbor and Ferndale; Marten/Davis LTD, a real estate brokerage; Alternative Light, a concert lighting business; Campus Corner Partystore; LampPost Office and Shopping Center; Chelsea Taco Bell; and, numerous other buildings and partnerships.
I look forward to serving on the Board of Ann Arbor State Bank as we bring further community banking possibilities to Washtenaw County. My small business experience should help to guide some part of the bank’s future.
With the support of his wife Judith, three sons and their families, including 5 grandchildren, Bill has been able to pursue a strong interest in higher education. As a six-year Trustee of Washtenaw Community College, as Chair and Director of Washtenaw Technical Middle College for nine years, and as Chair and Board Member of Cleary University for nine years, all primarily centered on increasing relevant educational opportunity for students in Washtenaw County.
