Carol is a lifelong Michigan resident and has lived in Ann Arbor since 1978 where she resides with her husband and two children, ages 13 and 15.
I am an active member of the community and am honored to serve as a Director of Ann Arbor State Bank. I take this responsibility seriously and am willing to commit the time and energy required.
She completed her medical education and residency training at the University of Michigan where she is Executive Vice Dean for Academic Affairs for the University of Michigan Medical School. Carol specializes in the surgical treatment of patients with tumors of the head and neck area. She also co-directs the head and neck oncology program within the Comprehensive Cancer Center, and leads a head and neck tumor biology research laboratory where she and her team hope to find new treatments for patients with head and neck cancer.
Carol enjoys serving as a mentor to high school students, medical students, residents and fellows. She has a passion for humanitarian medical missions and travels annually to Honduras to perform head and neck surgeries. Carol is also a fellow of the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine Program for Women at Drexel University.
