Irene has been a resident of Jackson County since 1983 and is proud to call Jackson “home”. Irene was raised in Oakland County and attended Michigan State University and Spring Arbor College, with a degree in Management and Organizational Development. She has been married to Dale for over 30 years and is the mother of two adult daughters.
Serving on the Ann Arbor State Bank Advisory Committee is a natural fit for me. With my knowledge of both the business community and human services, I recognize AASB’s strong commitment to revitalizing the Jackson community. AASB brings a much needed personal approach to banking by partnering with local companies and individuals to create a stronger economy and a better quality of life for all Jackson County residents.
Irene has been involved in her husband Dale’s manufacturing business, LeMatic, since they met at MSU in the early 80’s and is proud to be a part of Jackson County’s rich manufacturing history. In addition to supporting the family business, Irene has worked and volunteered in Jackson’s human service industry for many years, serving on various boards and working in community impact for the United Way. Since 2012, Irene has been the coordinator of Cradle to Career (C2C), Jackson County’s Education Network, and is a member of the Health Improvement Organization and the Financial Stability Network. Irene believes that equitable education outcomes can be achieved by addressing the root causes of social, financial and academic barriers to academic success, and ensuring that all individuals have the resources, education and career training they need to achieve economic prosperity.
