The banking industry is changing dramatically due to the tremendous advances in technology which allow immediate access to data and money movement as well as newly designed products that may or may not best serve the needs of the general public. Government regulation still lags behind industry enhancements and has created a turbulent environment for bankers and consumers. Unfortunately many banks are forgetting that it is their clients and shareholders— not technology and unrealistic profits — that their mission statements proclaim to serve. We, as a community bank, are driven to serve our clients, driven to provide a full array of services including access to the best consumer technology, and driven to provide access to fair and straightforward lending that will assist in growing and sustaining our community.
