William M. Broucek Co-Founder, Director

As the Co-Founder & Chairman of Ann Arbor State Bank, it is Mr. Broucek’s responsibility to chair the Board of Director meetings as well as some Board committee meetings.

I've spent my entire career in banking and finance. As Co-Founder and Chairman of Ann Arbor State Bank, I am committed to providing the highest standard of “Personal Banking” in the Ann Arbor area.

Mr. Broucek earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame as a finance major. Following graduation and a two-year military engagement, he joined the National Bank of Detroit where he worked for nine years as a commercial lender and as the bank’s first and only international lender. He then moved on to the Ann Arbor Trust Company where he acted as the financial advisor to Michigan Colleges and Universities.

In 1974, Mr. Broucek was responsible for founding the banking division of Ann Arbor Trust Co., which he headed for 13 years. In 1995, he founded Bank of Ann Arbor. During the next nine years, Mr. Broucek managed the bank as it grew into a $400,000,000 institution with five office locations, 100 employees and more than $300,000,000 in trust assets.

He has lived in Washtenaw County for over 40 years. During that time, Mr. Broucek has been active in assisting over 20 nonprofit and public entities through Board and committee positions.
